Yes. The workshop starts from the very basics and gradually progresses to advanced photography techniques and concepts. No prior knowledge is required.

Nothing beats learning face-to-face with your mentor. You get instant feedback, real conversations, and answers to every “silly” question (spoiler: there are no silly questions here). Add hands-on practice, like-minded peers and judgement-free discussion, and you've got an experience that simply can't be downloaded. Online programs are great for convenience — but for deep learning, they can't replace the energy, interaction and personal attention of an in-person classroom.

Classes are conducted in English only. Participants should be able to understand and communicate in English.

Absolutely. Many of our students start photography in Auto mode. By the end of the course you'll confidently use Manual mode and understand when and why to use different camera settings.

If you're already familiar with the basics, the workshop deepens your technical knowledge, improves your composition, and covers flash and natural lighting, post processing and creative thinking — while filling the gaps in your understanding. It's a well-structured photography program.

It's designed and structured to be a mix of both. Every concept is reinforced through theory, demonstrations, exercises, assignments and guided practice.

Yes. Since batch sizes are intentionally kept small, every participant receives personal guidance and feedback.

Absolutely. Questions are encouraged throughout the workshop and answered without any judgement — it's an important part of every Lightdots photography workshop.

Yes. Practical photography sessions are an important part of the learning experience — indoors as well as outdoors, and through creative photo assignments.

To ensure personal attention, each batch is intentionally limited to a small number of participants — generally around 12 per batch.

The classes are powerfully packed in a structured way — missing one breaks the flow and makes it difficult to follow, and classes are not repeated. Depending on the situation and schedule, we'll do our best to help you catch up.

Yes. Supporting materials are provided at the end of the course to help you revise and continue practicing after the workshop.

Any DSLR or mirrorless camera is ideal. Enthusiast bridge cameras with manual controls are also welcome. A mobile camera will not be enough.

Yes. You can attend the sessions with a rental camera, which we can help you arrange. Later, with our guidance and your new knowledge, you can select the right camera and make a purchase. Borrowing a DSLR from your friends or family for the workshop is also a great option.

Whether you own Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fujifilm, Panasonic or any other brand — photography principles remain the same across brands. At Lightdots you'll learn techniques and tricks that apply universally.

Not at all. You'll learn how to make the best use of the equipment you already own. We recommend you refrain from buying any photography gear without understanding its core purpose.

You'll confidently understand exposure and camera controls, compose better photographs, shoot in Manual mode, handle different lighting situations, and create photographs with greater consistency and creativity. Your perspective will change — you'll look at every photograph with a different eye.

Yes. Assignments help reinforce concepts and improve your photography through regular practice. Be ready for the creative adventure.

Unlike most workshops, you don't pay the full fee upfront. Simply pay a small token advance to reserve your seat and attend the first day of the actual workshop — not a demo session. If you're happy with the experience, pay the remaining fee and continue. If you genuinely feel it isn't right for you, we'll refund your token advance in full.
